The Train Graveyard

Today we visited the abandoned trains parked randomly on the tracks near Cicero. Rest in peace or at least in place, little run down train cars...

And I had to take the Kodak Brownie for the mini-road trip.

The Brownie's are still blurrier than I would like. The empty train was pretty creepy, so I didn't do a lot of playing with settings. Shoot, shoot, and out.

I'm a big fan of that high contrast first image too! It's gritty! There's a flickr group called urban decay (you can find it on my flickr groups) that this photo would be perfect for.

Also, I know you want to sharpen the focus on your brownie, but the ghostliness of it turned out pretty cool for this subject matter. :) Love it!

The train graveyard is this random track that crosses the state road southeast of Cicero, where, evidently, the railroad parks their retired trains. The trains are sitting about 50 yards off the road, but we noticed them as soon as we move to town, and 15 months later we finally went to visit them. I'm not sure its legal to go back there or not, but that made the journey more exciting!
